Back from Chili island (Lombok means chili in indonesian)
A lot has happened since last time I wrote, sorry that it took so long. Stina has arrived and a couple of days later we went to Lombok to celebrate the muslim festival Idul adha and my birtday. Don't have to much time to write today so I'll just put some pictures, En bild säger mer än tusen ord.
It's been great meeting everyone in Lombok again, they always take very good care of us, miss them already.

Wan's mum's place

The biggest mosque in Wan's home town Masbagik

Maaff (sorry) Stina! Promised Stina not to put this photo on my blogg but me and Wan agreed that this was the best since this photo shows how both men and women go to the mosque. I bet she wont realise that I put it here until she's back in Sweden and I don't go home until a week after her so by then she should have calmed down. But don't worry, you look so cute :)
Anyway, now also Stina has been to the mosque and prayed muslim style. Your surfpro to be is already an experience muslim since she had already been to the mosque once before. Last time my camera's battry run low so I couldn't take any pictures. I thought that I blended in since I wore the same kind of clothes as everyone else. Looking at this picture I realize that I'm a giant rising over all the other women. Looking like a giant ghost with a tiny head. But atleast Wan thinks I'm pretty, atleast that's what he keaps telling me.

When muslims celebrate Idul adha the people who are more wealthy buy a cow and cut it to smaller pieces and give to poor people. This is a picure of people helping to divide the meat into smaller pieces.

Wan, his cousins and friends arranged a road trip around the north of Lombok. We all went in his cousin's pickup truck. This picture shows when they sung Happy birthday to me.

Road trip, north of Lombok
örde från min ömma moder att släkten följer mig, riktigt kul att höra. Hej hej Nettan och hej hej även gamla kompisen Ulrika!
Sorry Stina
Soon my bf (best friend ) Stina is coming to Paradise. The waves have been awefully small the last few days so I just happened to do something that Stina might not appreciate when she comes here. One of the guys always surfing at Kuta beach has been asking me over and over when my friend is coming and if I think she’ll like him and if he can have her when she arrives. I’ve been very reserved and told him I don’t know, up to Stina bla bla. Then a couple of days ago when I was feeling low because of pretty shitty surf conditions he offered me all the waves for the rest of my stay if gave him Stina. The guy is an awesome surfer and really hard stealing waves from so this was an offer I couldn’t refuse. Since I accepted he has been counting down the days until Stina is coming and helping me catch waves. Sorry Stina, but consider yourself bortgift. I really hope you like him.
A lot of stuff has happened since last time I wrote; backstage at a rock concert, fishing (caught two fishes), birthday party.. Will try to show some of it with pictures, enjoy!
This one's for you Carro. Tole's birthday
Birthday jammin
Oups, no helmet.. we're standing still eh he he don't worry mum ;)
When it rains here it rains a lot
Mulut besar
Mulut besar means big mouth in Indonesian and this is what you call someone who brags. Now it's time for me to brag a bit. My Indonesian and My surfing is getting better each day while my english is getting worse. I'm talking like a real local now, broken english ha ha..
My surfing is improving and I feel pretty damn proud. When I started surfing I was really impressed by girls surfing shortboards in just a bikini and now guess who's rippin on her shortboard in just a tiny bikini, hell to da yeah your surfpro to be. Unfortunately the swell has been a bit down so the waves haven't been the best but it's still been great. I've learnt how to duckdive and I'm getting more and more in control of my board. Every day I breakfast at the beach (rice or noodles) and hit the waves. If I surf at Kuta beach and get a nice ride I can see Wan and the others cheer at the beach. Feels really good to have such great fan club. I surf two or three times a day and although Kuta is a real party place I've only been out dancing my first night here.
For those of you who don't know what duck dive is;

I was supposed to go to Jawa and look at the famous temple Borobodur but unfortunately it's been a volcano eruption in this area. At the same time a tsunami hit the Indonesian island Sumatra. This means that I once again only visit Lombok and Bali while in Indonesia. Guess that means that I have to come back again :)
In a bout ten days my bff Stina is coming to Bali. When she arrives we'll go to Lombok with Wan and celebrate the Muslim holiday Eid al Adha. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone in Lombok again and once again go to the mosque.
Manca (Slovenia), Hery, Me and Wan posing at the beach. Me and Manca are trying to look like football players.
Before I go.. this is my Indonesian no (better late than never); -6287862488160
Hidup ini indah (life's beautiful)

Me getting back to the beach after a sunset surf session
A big thanks to everyone who's found their way back to my blogg! Happy to see that my car "the Hulk" is strong and healthy. Though I took myself a lover, a lovely blue bike with whom I'm cruising around Bali. Went on a road trip to a beach called Balangan the other day and surfed the reef there. Found my way back to Kuta although I was caught in heavy rain. It wasn't raining men but raining cats and dogs ha ha
Bali bubble
One of my first nights here I dreamt that I was back home and that my vacation had already passed. I realised that I was dreaming and tried to wake up but woke up in my bed in Sweden. Finally I woke up relieved that I was still in Indo.
Just like in a Mc Donald's commercial I'm Lovin it here! Almost feel like throwing my ticket and hiding from the immigration officers. Back in the Bali bubble. Everything's different but still the same. And yes.. I just happened to move in with Wan, what to do what to do..

I had to transfer in Qatar. Found this in the shop. Felt like bit of a contrast to all the sheiks walking around in their thawb (white "dresses") and the women with niqab and vails at the airport.

Kuta beach

A warung (restaurant) at the beach. I totally love to eat at the beach!

Me and Iman. He's a so called freelancer working at the bach helping Wan to find costumers who wants to surf.

Papa Moses, a legend in Kuta. Don't know his age but about late 60s I think and 1,50 m tall
PS. Sorry that this took so long. Tried to publish this a couple of days ago but things doesn't always go as planned in Indonesia.
2nd home, sweet 2nd home..
Anyway, gotta go, will try to put some photos up soon. Just wanted to say that everything is great with your prosurfer except for one broken tooth (happened at the airplane eventhough I went to the dentist less than a week ago) and one sick stomach (adjusting to Indo food, toatally worth the pain he he).
Borta baest?
Da va man hemma fast borta. Tack men nej tack!
Anyway, allt vael haer.
The return of the surfpro and also return of the blogg
It’s been a while.. Jenny has been all grown-up for more than a year and now it’s time for my comeback ! This time the adventure is a bit shorter but still freaking awesome! I’m going back to the “crime scene” , hell to da yeah, back to Indo, woop woop!
On equest of my dear family I’m dusting off the Blogg. If you feel like commenting, push the button kommentera at the end of this text. All my bags are packed.. sort of and I’m totally ready to go.. Way past my bedtime already. Sampai jumpa! (see you in Indonesian)
Yepp, bloggerskan e tillbaks.. Underbart e kort, denna gång är resan begränsad till sju fin fina veckor. Surfproffset återvänder och bloggen dammas av. Resan börjar imorgon så fröken har redan stannat uppe för länge. Avslutar med lite tjusiga bilder.
Stina also wanted to come so she tried to sneak into my boardbag.. Sorry Stina see you in November. That's right, Stina is coming to Bali for two weeks in November :)
Last supper. Eating mashed potatoes, yummy!
Lite retro, fredagkväll vid grillen.
Anyone knows the medicine for heart ache?
So for your surf girl it's time to meet the reality, work, cold weather and living in the metropolis of Harplinge. I'm a bit nervous about starting working again, but when I think about it I have been working in Bali to. Many of my beah boys have and rastas have been coming tome asking for guidence about girls etc.. A common problem for them is that many of their ex tourist flings are coming back at the same time. Also I have been trying to educate some of the Kuta boys in the importance of using condom.. and I actually think they listened. So I guess I am ready to go back to work, since I didn't really quit being a social worker. Once a social worker, always a social worker.
My last day I spent at the beach and in the night Wan and some friend arranged a surprise bbq for me. Indonesians are amazing. Even though they don't have much, they chare with their friends the few things they have. You really can't blaim them for being materialistic since they don't have much and chare what they do have; food, clothes, everything. I wish I can bring this thinking with me for ever, since it a very good quality. My stay in Indo have definately taught me a lot but there are some things I have to try to stop with when coming back to the country of Swedes. For example I have to stop saying apa which meens what in Indo but monkey in Swedish. I have to stop talking half Indo sentences, start using toilet paper which I now find a bit un clean he he and get used to none spicy food and not eating rice for breakfast. But the most hard thing of course will be not to have my boy with me all the time, since I came to Indo we have pretty much been together 24-seven.
Oups, got to go.. my (or actually the computer's) battery is running low. Will write one last thing on my blogg and put some pics up in a couple of days, so stay with me will you!
Hello Mister goes to the mosque
It's been a while.. I noticed that the beautiful weather in Europe decreased the amount of comments on my blog, so I decided to take a break.. But I've been feeling a bit guilty.. so now I'm back!
A couple of weeks ago we went to Lombok, my dear Wan and me. We drove there on the motorbike and took the ferry over from Bali. It was a lot of fun driving there by ourselves but the butt was pretty soar after many hours on the motorbike. We stayed in Wan's hometown for about a week and slept at his cousin Rio's home, same like last time. We had a great time, I saw loads of places where, according to Wan, no tourists had been. Once again I felt like a pop star when people were giggling when I passed by and saying Hello Mister! I just smiled back and said hello Madame. His friends and family took me around and showed me beautiful places. We went up in the mountains and to Kuta Lombok which is the total opposite to Kuta Bali, almost no tourists, no discos and beautiful clear-blue water. Also we visited a friend who owns a pharmacy. The whole village got all excited and many came to talk to the bole (westerner). I've met Wan's mum the other times we've been in Lombok but this time I also got to meet his dad. His dad lives in a village a bit outside his hometown.
For those of you who didn't know Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country in the world and Lombok is famous as the island with a thousand mosques. My "Wan and only" is Muslim and our last day he took me to the mosque. We went up early in the morning and around five we went to the biggest of the mosques in Masbagik. I thought that no one would notice that I was non- Indonesian since I came dressed like all the other women in Sarong and white, long headscarf. I was all surprised when Wan went with me to the women's part of the mosque to show me how to put my praying mat. I tried to sit all discrete in the back and just observe. But the women noticed the confused bole, guess it wasn't that hard to spot me since I'm at least one head taller than the other women (didn't feel to cool in the outfit). The women told me to sit with them and they wouldn't take no for an answer. Said and done, I sat next to a wonderful old woman. She asked me how long I had been a Muslim and when I told her I wasn't she looked a bit worried and asked me if my dad knew that I was there. When I told her he did she got very happy and insisted on teaching me how to pray. Said and done, your surfpro to be prayed Muslim style and after the prayer finished people were shaking each other's hands and many people came to greet the super surfer. It was a great a experience and I really appreciate that I got the chance to do it. It was a contrast to the daily hindu praying here and Bali and the Christian way at home. All religions have different ways, but what all religions really talk about is the importance of taking care of eachother.
So how about the surfing.. yes she is getting better but still far from pro. But I do have a sponsor ha ha or atleast I consider it so. My Swizz friend is a designer and before she went home for the summer she gave us some clothes. So I now consider myself to be surfing for Swizz laundry's (that's the brand) team. Also I have booke my ticket home and will be back in dear ( c)old Sweden the 3rd of august. I can't believe it.. I'm actually panicing.. Don't want to leave my loevely boy and the life here but at the same time it's gonna be great to see everyone back home again and to feed my poor bank account again.
Some pics from the trip to Lombok
Lady making tofu, according to one the best tofu comes from Lombok.
Coffee, Wawan says also says that the best coffee, the best tempe and the best boys come from Lombok ;)
Tobacco, probably the best tobacco in the world.. have to ask Wawan
Me (yes that's the surfpro to be) at a restaurant in Wan's homtown.. recognize it Eve?
The most private toilet ever.. not really made for tall Swedish girls.. can I please wish for higher walls..
Bbq in the mountains.. I'm still vegetarian, but the noodles were yummy!
Motor bike ride
Kuta life
Election, when you vote in Indo you have to put your finger in ink that doesn't fade until after a couple of days. This is Wayan, one of the owners of the house we live in.
Me painting outside our room (do that quite a lot now) and our (not really our, but almost) lovely dog. He was so happy to see us when we got back from Lombok. He's growing..alot.
In sickness and in health..
But, but, in health is so much more fun.. No I'm not getting married ( if I fooled you with today's title), but Wan has been sick..again.. and we are getting sick of being sick.. because; when Wan is not sick I'm sick. We're hardly sick from living unhealthy since we almost never drink alcohol and it's definitely not from stress ha ha..
When my boy got sick he is a bit of a drama queen. I've heard stories about when men are sick they're "really" sick and feeling sorry for themselves but never quite believed in it. Because, when my dear dad is sick he doesn't complain.. Like when he had water in his knee he just kept on walking. If he would break a leg during a football game (not that he plays football any more) he would just keep on playing (slightly exaggeration). So when my dear boy started being a bit of a drama queen I actually couldn't help giggling, not once.. but twice, oups (blush, blush)! We tought that he had tonsillitis and I have had it many times and when he was acting as if he would die I couldn't stop myself from giggling. We went to the doctor, the cheap and good one (not docotr bohong if you remember). He told us that it wasn't tonsillitis but something a bit more painful. Also the doctor said that he shouldn't eat or drink cold things and since we thought it was tonsillitis I had fed him with loads of ice cream. After the visit at the doctors your surfpro to be felt like the worst girlfriend in the world or atleast in Kuta. But after visiting our favorite doctor, I've been soo understanding and also he hasn't talked about almost dying. Think that my poor Wan felt less worried after the visit but also he was told by the doctor to speak as little as possible. A bit boring, but not that big of a problem when the girlfriend can talk for two..or three.
Glad midsommar! (swedish porn)

This picture is called Swedish porn, quite midsummerish isn't it? Hope no one gets offended by the name :)
Btw, thanks for the comments considering my name change. I think I'll postpone it. Since Jenny is quite gangsterish he he, felt really cool when I read that. Maybe I've been watching Godfather-movies too much.
Name change?
So, now when that is said (.. once again.. I love reading the comments..) I love Indo names. Just met a guy called Badas (pronounced bad ass). And the funny part is that he wasn't very bad ass. His whole name was Badas Raja Singa, the last part meaning lion king. Another friend of mine is called Didit.. who did it? Didit did it.. ha ha or what about the name Gofar ha ha Go far Gofar. Then we got a guy called Wen.. yeah that's right; -"When is Wen coming?" and another friend is called Firman (meaning the firm/company in swedish).. how can anyone not love the Indo names.. Damn, why can't I have a cool name like that. Okey, my last name is pretty cool Langguth, lang gut meaning tall good in german (just like me). But Jenny Katarina, mum and dad what were you guys thinking and specially when naming my brothers Jimmy and Johnny. Either you guys love names beggining with J and ending with Y or you just have very bad imagination. Hmm, what do you guys think.. should I add something extra to my name.. maybe Ratu Ombak (queen of the wave) like my first board, or maybe Jenny Tukool (too cool, ha ha, just made it up) Langguth or maybe take my Indo name Tukiem. Well, maybe I should just keep my real name. But according to a test on Facebook my Swedish name is Alice Bengtsson, and I've always thought it was Jenny Katarina Langguth. I guess I was wrong, because Facebook is always right?
Enough about names, before I go I just wanted to tell you that been to the best second hand market ever ever. Bought awesome clothes for almost nothing. Eg. an awesome sweater for about 4 Euro and the t-shirt on the photo for 1Euro, me like! (Did you notice I wrote the prices in Euro this time, how international am I)

This is me in my new T-shirt, on my new pillow (yes dear parents, she's bringing it home..are you excited he he). On this photo I'm writing for my blogg, don't I look important..
I saw the sign..
And it opened up my mind.. (sorry for quoting such a bad song) So here comes the secret I promised..
Well, your surfpro to be quit her job, that's right.. how will Scandinavia now get their nativity scenes.. You understand the serious pain this will cause the Scandinavians. Some of you might think that I'm crazy quitting a job which pays me millions.. but keep in mind that this is ruphia, meaning I'm not that well paid. So it started with me getting a job offer from my old job in Falkenberg and.. I was tempted. The night before I had to decide my boss here started to act strange and wanted to pay me less money.. blah ha blah ha, long story. So I took this as a sign (yes I saw the sign and it did open up my mind, I guess). Said and done I accepted the job offer in Sweden. Haven't got a ticket home yet but I'll be home before the 10th of August because that's when I start working. Unfortunately I can't go to Martina and Håkan's wedding the 15th since my niece is having her confirmation the same day.. (Damn when fun stuff happens, why do they have to be one the same date).
Hell yeah, "working nine to five, what a way to make a living". The temp will last until end December, after that my plan is to go back here for a couple of months. I feel good about my decision and it's gonna be great to meet family and friends and work with something I love. Have to admit that I wasn't that passionate about selling nativity scenes (please forgive me God). So my plan is to enjoy my last time here and surf as much as possible and of course spend as much time as possible with My 1 .. And then it's back to living with my dear parents in the metropolis of Harplinge. So, special thanks to them for once again having me stay at their place, although I'm a bit too old for that, but parenting is for a lifetime job ha ha, ask my parents- they sure know. To my defense I want to say that my mum was one the people suggesting that I should come home for a bit (don't really know what my dad's opinion was). Poor them for having a daughter trying to go pro in Indo, when all my friends are buying houses and getting married (congrats once again; Martina + Håkan and Charly + Hasse).
Also special thanks f to Mr Falk with team remembering me when needing a temporary worker, will be a pleasure working for you once again (men kom ihåg att jag inte har något trollspö och är ej heller någon Jultomte).
Feels a bit strange to actually see the end of this stay in Indo but.. to quote Arnold S. in "Terminator"; "I'll be back!" or to quote famous Indonesian reggae artist (and also a friend of mine Steven, he he I'm too cool); "Aku kembali" (I'm coming back). Seems like I have a thing for quotes this time.. maybe you all could comment with quotes ha ha.. And please do comment, or else I might get all offended and stay here forever ever.. mwohahaha (evil laughter)...silence..please, sob, sob..
Btw. Also want to mention that I'm still enoying driving the motorbike and I'm super cool. Sometimes even wearing Wan's helmet, you remember; "Tell your mum I said thanks". More fun to wear this when you're a girl, don't you think??
Will end with two pics I took today, when we once again went to the fish market in Jimbaran. "Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy".. meaning loads of seafood and love for all of you guys of course (fjäsk, fjäsk).
Hindu ceremony at the beach
Selling tobacco, not the happy herb kind of one.. I think
And let's end today's blogg with a lovely picture taken in November in Gili, just because it's so beautiful..
Everyone who doesn't feel like going to Indonesia, raise your hand... you must be crazy or gila as we say here in Indo.
Dr Bohong
Your Swedish surfpro hasn't written for a long time. One of the reasons is that my man has been sick so I've been worried about him. It all started last Sunday. We were supposed to go on a trip (this we try to do every Sunday, to escape Kuta for a bit). But this Sunday Wan woke up with fever and didn't feel good at all. Since we thought all local doctors were closed I took him to one for tourists aka Dr Bohong, indonesian for Dr Bull shit. We ended up paying half my monthly salary, hooray! Wan got a shoot in his butt (have no idea what kind of medicine, the doctor only said it was vitamin). They also wanted to check if he had the dengue fever but Wan got upset by the price and left. He kept on feeling bad and we got more worried, so two days ago we went to a local doctor, he confirmed that Wawan has the dengue fever and that it will soon pass, he just need to rest and drink a lot (water that is, not alcohol incase anyone wondered). This doctor was much better and we only paid a tenth of the price we paid at dr Bullshit.
But as we say in Sweden, there's no bad thing that doesn't also bring something good. Since Wan has been sick I've been forced to get food etc and I've really started enjoying riding around on the motorbike, feeling all Indonesian. My Swedish friends voted for the European election although they were in Australia and therefore I decided to check out if I could vote here in Bali or not. I found no information at the internet so I decided to drive to Sanur (yes mum, this time I was wearing a helmut) and talk to the people at the consulate. Said and done, yesterday I drove there and got my voting envelope. Since Indo mail isn't famous for being extremely fast the lady at the consulate told me I had to send it with UPS. Even though it would be expensive I was still considering it when I came home, who doesn't want to be a good citizen and vote (go left wing, ha ha). Wan who had been inside the room all day got curious about my letter and then accidently tore of a piece which you're not supposed to take away. I guess that was a sign. Even though I think everyone should vote, this time Europe will have to do without my vote.
Here are some pics from our last sunday trip. We started with being all cultural visiting Bali cultural park
The hindu God Vischnu, Bali cultural park
Me and the giant hands
After being all cultural we went to a beautiful beach called Balangan..
Also..before I go.. I've noticed that you guys are losing interest a bit since it's summer and all in Europe.. but do have a look on tuesday. Promise to tell a secret then.. oh yeah typical cliff hanger..
Rippin at Kuta reef..
Hell yeah, Harplinge's best surfer, meaning your surfpro to be, was kicking ass a couple of days ago. Well, I guess I kick ass all the time (she's getting arrogant) but this was something extra. This very day I came to Kuta beach for a morning surf and my friends/coaches asked if I should join them to Kuta reef, I said yes with a confident voice (less confident mind). Said and done we took the boat out to the reef. The waves were perfect, almost started crying of joy when I saw a set rolling in. The waves were pretty big, fat, clean and not closing.. exactly the kind of waves Harplinge's surfpro perfers. I got some really good, long rides and the rest of the day I walked around with the biggest smile and sorest arms in Kuta. My friend/coach Hery keeps talking about how he was paddeling back when he saw me riding a great wave. A true blogg picture moment, but no cameras there, so you have to trust me when I say I was Queen of the waves. The following days the waves were really shit. This is both the charm and the pet peeve about surfing, That the waves are awesome one day doesn't guarantee that they will be good the following day, being a surfer is a constant search for the perfect wave. The search (Ripcurls slogan), do you hear that Ripcurl? It's about time you get a surfer from Harplinge on your team.. still no sponsors, sob, sob..
Well, since I can't show you any pictures of me surfing I'll give you some random pics instead. Btw saw that "Mr Print wrong Nisse" (tryckfels-Nisse) has been visiting my blogg, sorry about bad spelling and grammar. To my defence I have to say that my English isn't as bad as it looks even though it's been getting worse since I came back to Bali. So has my Swedish, feels a bit embarrasing, blush, blush..
This one is for you mum. The back of Wan's helmet., don't really think Wan knows what it's implying..
"Hooker, for Sale. Nobody does it better".. stick to nursing Stina, will you. Found this nice sign in Australia. Also found a sign saying "No standing any time, this area reserved for picking up or getting down".
This is taken in Kuta. Combined cemetary, basketball and volleyball field. First time I saw this I couldn't help wondering if the people died while playing basketball or if it was the audience who passed away. When I asked Wan about why they had graves just next to the sports field he said that they probably just wanted the dead to have some fun, watching a game even though they're dead. Makes sence I guess especially since the Balinise people take very good care of spirits. What do you guys think?
